PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say an officer shot a woman with a butcher knife early Wednesday at an east Phoenix apartment complex after the woman made a threatening move.
Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump says officers responded to a 911 call shortly after 4 a.m. After arriving Crump says officers were confronted with a woman armed with a knife.
Crump says the 30-year-old woman lunged at officers and an officer fired one shot striking her in the abdomen. The woman was transported to a Phoenix hospital.
No officers were injured.
