SOMERTON, Ariz. (AP) - Bees attacked 13 farm workers in the community of Somerton near Yuma, according to authorities.
The workers were in a cauliflower field when the bees started stinging them repeatedly Monday afternoon.
A spokesman for the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department tells the Yuma Sun firefighters were dispatched to the field after calls started coming in that field workers were being attacked by a swarm of bees.
One farm worker had to be taken to a Yuma hospital because of an allergic reaction.
A beekeeper was called in to try and collect the bees.
