Lawyers in Arpaio profiling want no ICE testimony

PHOENIX (AP) - Lawyers representing Latinos who accuse Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office of racial profiling want a federal judge to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement employees from being called to testify by the sheriff's lawyers at a trial.
Motions filed late Friday say ICE gave the sheriff's lawyers permission to conduct depositions of the five employees but they never did. The lawyers for the five Latinos say because the depositions weren't done and they couldn't also question the ICE employees, their testimony should be barred. They said two other ICE agents don't have relevant testimony and also should not be called.
The suit alleges that Arpaio's officers made traffic stops because Hispanics were in the vehicles. Arpaio has denied the racial profiling allegations.
