PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is heading to Washington for the National Governors Association's winter conference.
Brewer leaves Thursday and is scheduled to return to Arizona late on Monday, the day before the state's Republican presidential primary election.
The association says the conference will include sessions with President Barack Obama, Cabinet members, business leaders and others for discussion of issues affecting states.
Those topics include job creation, childhood hunger, health care services, energy and the role of the National Guard.
