Man arrested for child abuse in Marana

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Deputies with the Pima County Sheriff's Department arrested 37 year-old Federico Ballesteros Jr for child abuse.
School officials at Marana Middle School reported the abuse to deputies in January of this year. Investigators spoke with the victim who said he was too afraid to go home to his abusive father and step-mother.
The victim told authorities that he lived in the home with his two step-sisters and a half-sister. He said that he and his siblings were being abused and neglected.
On February 2nd 2012 investigators arrested Ballesteros and charged him with four counts of child abuse.
All the children are now in the custody of child protective services.
