Loughner attorney wants notes kept from prosecutor

PHOENIX (AP) - An attorney for the man suspected of shooting former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is asking a federal judge not to allow prosecutors to see notes on Jared Loughner's sessions with a prison psychologist.
The Arizona Republic (http://bit.ly/wCB4aO ) reports when Dr. Christina Pietz submitted her report on Loughner's competency earlier this month, she included 62 pages of notes from her meetings with Loughner, from October 2011 to February 2012.
Loughner's attorney Judy Clark asked U.S. District Court Judge Larry Burns to keep some of the notes from prosecutors because they contain potentially incriminating statements allegedly made by Loughner in response to Pietz's questioning.
The 23-year-old Loughner is accused of shooting 19 people on Jan. 8, 2011 outside a supermarket near Tucson. Six people died and 13 were wounded.
