CBP officers seize 550 pounds of pot coming from Mexico

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Officers with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection have seized nearly 500 pounds of marijuana from freight trains coming from Mexico.
Authorities found the drugs when they were conducting routine inspections of incoming freight trains.
Members of the CBP Nogales Rail Team seized the pot in 3 seperate discoveries. The largest seizure occured Tuesday in a Union Pacific railcar loaded with fish meal. Officers recovered 345 pounds of marijuana in 14 bundles.
Monday, officers found 120 pounds of marijuana in a rail car. On Wednesday officers found a single package containing close to 20 pounds of pot in an empty grain car.
