TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A suspect has been arrested in in connection with two early morning arson fires at Tucson homes.
Tucson police say 21-year-old Curtis Brown has been booked into Pima County jail on suspicion of two counts each of arson of an occupied structure and criminal damage.
It's unclear whether Brown has a lawyer yet.
The first fire started just before 4 a.m. Friday at a home on North Swan Road near East Speedway.
The two residents in the home got out of the house safely. Damage to the home is estimated at $20,000.
A neighbor and Tucson police officers alerted firefighters to the second fire in a vacant home in the same block shortly after 4 a.m. Friday.
Authorities say damage to that home was minimal.
