SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Cochise County Sheriff's Department has made an arrest in connection with a weapons theft on New Year's Day.

Carol Capas tells KGUN9 that on Jan. 4, officers from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, ATF and the Sierra Vista Police Department executed a search warrant on a residence on Piccadilly Drive in Sierra Vista.

The warrant was issued in connection with the burglary of the Mountain Trading Post.

As a result of the investigation and execution of the search warrant, 40-year-old Kurt Zinke was arrested on burglary charges.  In addition, 48 of the 63 weapons reported stolen were recovered.

Additional arrests are anticipated and the investigation is continuing, says Capas.
