TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - One man is dead and another remains in the hospital, following a shooting downtown.
Authorities reported shots fired just after 11 a.m. Thursday, near Sixth Avenue and Sixth Street. Sixth Street in all directions from Seventh Avenue to Sixth Avenue were closed for about five hours, while police investigated.
Sgt. Maria Hawke, with the Tucson Police Department, said three people have been detained.
"We had several people come forward and let us know they had witnessed aspects of the incident, whether it be suspects fleeing from the area or the incident itself," said Hawke.
Authorities say the shooting is gang related and the victims were targeted.
