TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A suspected attempted abduction on Tucson's east side has authorities on high alert.

Authorities say a female, in her 20’s reported she was running on Old Spanish Trail around 4:15 p.m. Saturday, when she was approached by a man with a weapon. Brandishing the weapon, authorities say the man attempted to abduct her.

The female was able to run away and get help from a Good Samaritan who had stopped.

Authorities say the suspect ran off through the desert on foot and circled back to a truck, which he left in.

Authorities describe the suspect as a Caucasian male in his early 20’s, wearing a black t-shirt and olive pants. Authorities say the truck is a four-door newer model, with dirt on the rear bumper of the vehicle.

Detectives have released a composite drawing of the suspect in this case. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME (882-7463).
