TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – The 2011 Stuff the Hummers event broke a record.  An estimated 15 thousand toys were donated, which is double from last year.

Event organizers said the community support, this year, was overwhelming.

“Last year, we had almost 100 bikes and this year we have almost 150,” said event coordinator Michele Ochoa.

This year, The Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation partnered with Team Up for Tucson to hold the event.  All the toys were donated in honor of the young girl, whose life was taken on Jan. 8.

Christina-Taylor’s mother, Roxanna Green, said being a long-time supporter of the Salvation Army, joining Stuff the Hummers was a logical choice and an event her daughter would be proud to be a part of.

“Oh, she's dancing in heaven right now,” said Green. “She's smiling singing, she's excited.  She's so proud of Tucson and all the great work we're doing here.”
