TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - One person is dead and two injured after three separate crashes involving nine vehicles on Interstate 10 near Tucson.
Northwest Fire Department officials say the eastbound lanes of I-10 were closed for about six hours Monday morning at Tangerine Road following the accidents.
The first crash occurred about 6 a.m. when a rear-end collision caused a pickup truck to roll into the eastbound lanes.
The truck then was struck an oncoming pickup which veered and struck a utility truck. Both trucks then crashed into another pickup truck.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the driver of the pickup truck that rolled died at the scene. The victim's name hasn't been released.
Another driver involved in the crashes was flown to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
