TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police are investigating the death of man they found unresponsive and with no pulse at a midtown apartment complex.
Officers responded to the apartment complex north of Country Club Road just before midnight Saturday.
Authorities say witnesses reported a 26-year-old male banging on doors in the courtyard of the complex.
When authorities arrived at the scene four minutes after the first 911 call was made, they say they located the unresponsive man outside of one of the apartments. Officers immediately started CPR on the victim.
Paramedics showed up shortly after and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the victim lived at the apartment complex and was assaulted while in his unit.
Authorities say they have booked 24-year-old Louie Childs of Tucson into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on a 1st Degree Murder charge.
The victim's name hasn't been released.
Police say the motive is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
Police are also withholding Childs' photograph while the investigation continues.
The Tucson Police Department urges anyone with information about this incident to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
