Rare ocelot reportedly seen southeast of Tucson

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - An ocelot was reportedly sighted Friday, also known as the dwarf leopard or McKenney's wildcat. Officials say the ocelot was seen southeast of Tucson. Arizona Game and Fish officials say they have confirmed the report by finding animal tracks and images that helped the department deem this as a verified report.
According to a news release from Arizona Game and Fish Department, an officer with the department investigated the ocelot sighting report and found tracks that helped them deem it a verified report.
Game and Fish will share the evidence with other ocelot experts for an independent analysis.
