PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Department of Transportation is giving drivers a break over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

Highways will be wide open and no construction is planned.

Although there are no construction closures scheduled over the holiday weekend, ADOT says there are existing state highway work zones including State Route 85 narrowed to one lane in both directions for existing bridge work in Gila Bend.

Interstate 17 is narrowed to one lane south of Flagstaff.

Road widening work zones are in place along U.S. 93 north of Wikieup and Interstate 10 in the Casa Grande area and I-10 between Ruthrauff and Prince roads in Tucson.

Drivers also are urged to be prepared for unscheduled highway closures anywhere in the state due to crashes, disabled vehicles or other events.
