Border Patrol arrests convicted murderer

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A Mexican immigrant, previously convicted of murder, was arrested Tuesday by the Tucson Sector Border Patrol.
29-year-old Luis Carrasco Valencia was arrested by Douglas Station Border Patrol agents for illegally entering the U.S., according to a press release from Border Patrol.
Agents used a national fingerprint identification system and found out that he was arrested by the New York Police Department in April 2003.
Carrasco-Valencia was convicted in June 2004 and was sentenced to eight years in prison for intentional murder.
He was also convicted of criminal possession of a weapon and sentenced to two years in prison, according to Border Patrol.
Carrasco-Valencia faces federal prosecution for re-entry of an aggravated felon, according to The Press Release.
