TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Veteran's Day parade kicks off at 10am downtown. It's one of several events going on throughout the weekend to honor our men and women who serve.

The parade will affect some travel. If you're downtown, you may want to steer clear of the parade's route. It starts at Granada and Alameda, then goes east on Alameda, north on Church, west on 6th Street and south on Granada. It all ends at Granada and Franklin.

There will be some detours because of street closures so buses may be delayed from about 9am until 1pm. Bus riders can contact Sun Tran for more information.

An open house and breakfast for veterans will take place at the Pima Air and Space Museum from 8-10:30 Friday morning.

A fallen soldier cross dedication is scheduled for 11 at Railroad Park in Wilcox.

The Arizona State Veterans Home on East Ajo Way will be dedicated at 1.

Free concerts will take place at Catalina Foothills High School at 2 and at the VA Center at 3pm.

Parades will also take place in Sierra Vista, Nogales and Douglas.

In observance of the holiday, all city, county, state and federal offices will be closed today.

Garbage and recycling collection will be pushed back until tomorrow.
