Mohave County supervisors likely to oppose tolls

KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - The state transportation department is looking at raising cash for bridge repairs on Interstate 15 by charging tolls on the interstate in northwest Arizona.
The Mohave Daily News reports the Board of Supervisors may vote next week to oppose the installation of toll booths on I-15.
District 1 Supervisor Gary Watson says tolls could cost motorists about $3 and truckers even more to drive through the section of I-15 that cuts through the Arizona Strip.
The Kingman supervisor says tolls would be unfair to residents who may work or live in Beaver Dam or Littlefield and commute to St. George, Utah.
Traffic on Highway 91 could also increase because of the tolls. The narrow, winding, two-lane highway from Littlefield to St. George is often prone to flooding or crashes.
