Border Patrol captures convicted sex offender

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A sex offender from Chilpancingo, Guerrero, Mexico, was sentenced to 40 months in prison by Tucson Station Border Patrol agents on October 20 for attempting to re-enter the United States illegally.
Bricio Contreras-Vasquez, a 38-year-old male, was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's office on Jan. 21, 2011, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System showed that Contreras-Vasquez had already been convicted in 2004 for force, violence, duress, menace, lewd acts and threat of bodily harm on a child under 14.
Records also show that he was deported from the U.S. after serving a six-year sentence. The case was submitted to the U.S. Attorney's Office for re-entry of a felon. Contreras-Vasquez will be removed from the country after his 40-month sentence.
Without a waiver from the U.S. Attorney General, Contreras-Vasquez is banned from all legalization processes for life, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported.
