Police arrest Tucson man for child abuse

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Detectives have arrested 20 year-old Devon Jackson of Tucson and charged him with 3 felony counts of child abuse.
Authorities say that on October 11th 2011 they responded to a hospital after Jackson brought his 3 month-old baby girl to a hospital for third degree burns.
Medical staff found that the child had several broken ribs, bruises, and third degree burns over 20% of her body. She was taken to the Arizona Burn Center and is expected to survive.
When detectives contacted Jackson he said the child was burned when he was giving her a bath, but could not explain the rib fractures or bruises.
Jackson was taken into Custody Wednesday and booked into the Pima County Jail. He was charged with 2 counts of Child Abuse (a Class 2 Felony) and one count of Child Abuse (a Class 4 Felony).
