Police identify victim in shooting

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police officers are investigating an incident where a man was shot and killed early Sunday morning.
According to Tucson Police Sergeant Maria Hawke, authorities began receiving 911 calls reporting several shots fired on the 3600 Block of South 16th Avenue.
Officers arrived to find 22-year-old Sergio Valdez. Authorities say he appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.
Detectives say the victim may have been with several other people at the time of the shooting. It is unknown what the victim and suspects were doing or why they were at the apartment complex.
The motive and suspects associated with the incident have not yet been identified at this time, according to Sgt. Hawke.
Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to call 911 or 88-Crime.
