For all the above events, motorists should obey all traffic control signs and watch for event participants and spectators.

Beginning Monday, October 10, 2011 through Friday, October 14, 2011, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. work crews will be milling (removing asphalt) and paving the Golf Links Road and Kolb Road intersection.  At least one lane of traffic in all directions and business access will be maintained at all times.   Tucson Police officers will be onsite to help direct traffic through the area.  Expect delays as workers and equipment move through the area.

Final striping is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 17, 2011 and Tuesday, October 18, 2011.  This work will also be done at night.

Once paving is complete crews will begin to adjust the water valve covers and manhole covers flush with the new asphalt.  Adjustments are expected to be complete by Friday, October 21, 2011. During this work concrete will be poured around the covers and barricades will be in place for 24 hours to allow the concrete to cure.

The Golf Links Road and Kolb Road Intersection Improvement Project began in April 2011. The improvements include widening the existing intersection to provide dual left turn lanes in all directions, new six-foot-wide sidewalks, a bus pull through at the northeast and southeast corners of the intersection and a bus pullout at the northwest corner of the intersection. The construction cost of the project is $2.3 million and the improvements are being funded with the voter-approved Regional Transportation Authority (RTA).

The project is scheduled to be complete in later this month.  For more information and for regular project updates please visit the project website at http://cms3.tucsonaz.gov/project/golf-links-kolb-road

The voter-approved, $2.1 billion RTA plan will be implemented through 2026. Details about the full plan are available at www.RTAmobility.com. The RTA has a nine-member board with representatives from local, state and tribal governments. While funded through the RTA, the above projects will be managed by TDOT.
