Mexico rescues 38 migrants near Arizona border

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican officials have rescued 38 U.S.-bound migrants who were abandoned in the high desert near the Arizona border.
The Interior Ministry says the four women and 34 men were left by human smugglers in two remote locations eight and 15 miles from the border city of Nogales, Mexico.
A ministry statement Thursday says the migrants have told police they were lost and had been walking in the harsh Sonoran desert for days. The agency doesn't say when the migrants were rescued.
It says only one of the rescued people was hospitalized, because of dehydration.
