Lake Havasu City-area man attacked by feral pig

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - A Lake Havasu City-area man is recovering after he was attacked by a wild pig. Desert Hills Fire Chief Mat Espinoza tells the Today's News-Herald the injured man approached the pig Saturday and it gored him. The pig weighed about 75 pounds, and had lower teeth that were sticking out of its lower jaw.

It reared up, stood up, and in the process the lower tusk penetrated into the lower part of the man's leg.

Espinoza described the victim as a young man.

Four firefighters were successful in rounding up the pig and Arizona Game and Fish Department officials were able to snare it. Mohave County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene and
Western Arizona Humane Society animal control officers also arrived to assist in the capture.
