TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – Firefighters were called to a south Tucson mobile home park when neighbors reported seeing smoke coming from the inside of a home Saturday.
Tucson Fire Fighters were called just before 4 p.m., to the 1300 block of East Bilby Road, where a vacant mobile home was found engulfed in flames, according to Tucson Fire spokesperson Trish Tracy.
Neighbors were trying to extinguish the fire with a small hose at the time authorities arrived.
Firefighters performed a quick interior search to ensure no one was inside, and 9 minutes later the fire was under control.
No injuries occurred. This was a vacant home, so no individuals were displaced.
Authorities estimate the damage at $10,000.00.
Authorities say the cause of the fire is arson; the fire was intentionally set in the interior portion of the home.
Safety Message from Tucson Fire authorities: Call 911 immediately to report any fire. Also, remember to call 88-CRIME or 911 to report anything suspicious related to any fire. Even the smallest bit of information could potentially be of vital assistance in an investigation, which could help lead to an arrest.
