Severe thunderstorm hits southern Arizona

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A severe monsoon storm hit the Tucson metro area Saturday night bringing incredible amounts of rain, lightning, thunder and flooding.

As of 8 p.m., 25,000 Tucson Electric Power customers were without power.

There were also tornado warnings issued by the National Weather Service late Saturday afternoon. Several KGUN 9 viewers captured photos of funnel clouds from the Vail area.

There were reports of fallen power lines in the areas of Euclid & Speedway and near 3000 West Valencia. There were also reports of heavy damage in the area of Ajo & I-19.
