Peoria fire chief files claim over retirement benefits
Web Producer: Brian Pryor
PEORIA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Peoria Police Chief has filed a notice of claim to the City of Peoria in the amount of $3.6 million dollars over retirement benefits.
Solberg says that he is willing to accept a settlement of $1.5 million.
At issue is whether Solberg can take part in the Arizona State Retirement System.
Solberg, who is 52, says that he was initially in the pension system but got booted. Officials with the state retirement agency said he was ineligible for the system because he belonged in a system for public safety employees.
