PICACHO PEAK, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Arizona Department of Public Safety has re-opened Interstate 10 at Picacho Peak after a quadruple fatal collision caused a closure on Thursday.

Officer Quentin Mehr, a spokesperson with DPS tells KGUN9 a commercial vehicle was headed eastbound on I-10 when the driver lost control of the vehicle.  The commercial vehicle went through the median and returned back to the road on westbound I-10.

The commercial vehicle struck a mini van and another passenger vehicle.  The mini van caught fire. The three people in the mini van were killed.  The commercial vehicle rolled onto it's side and the driver was also killed in the collision.

A westbound commercial vehicle ran into the other commercial vehicle and rolled onto it's side.  The driver of that commercial vehicle was critically injured and transported.
