One killed, one injured in crash on I-10 near Vail

VAIL, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A 13-year-old is dead and another person is injured after rollover collision on Interstate 10.
Officer Quentin G. Mehr tells KGUN9 that at about 12:53 a.m., officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Interstate 10, milepost 284 ( approximately 23 miles east of Tucson).
Mehr says a 2001 Chrysler passenger vehicle was headed eastbound on I-10 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle ran off the road, climbed a small embankment, then rolled over back onto the road.
The passenger of the vehicle was not wearing a safety restraint and was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene from him injuries. The driver, who was wearing safety restraints, was injured. She was airlifted to a local area hospital.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Kelly Anne Maag, 40, from Duncan, Ariz. The passenger who was pronounced deceased has been identified as Paul Maag, 13, from Duncan, Ariz.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
