TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A man is in the hospital with very-serious injuries after he was mauled by his own pit-bull.
The attack happened in the 6700 block of south Paseo De Las Aguilas near Valencia & Camino De La Tierra.
Deputy Dawn Barkman with the Pima County Sheriff's Department says deputies responded just after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.
Drexel Heights Fire Department paramedics rushed the unidentified 60 year-old man to an area hospital with injuries described as "very serious" and life threatening.
Sheriff's Deputies used a tazer on the dog to contain it until an animal control officer could arrive to take custody of the dog.
The dog was taken to the Pima Animal Care and Control facility. The fate of the dog will be decided at a later time.
