Customs agents find partial tunnel in Nogales

NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are investigating an incomplete tunnel leading from a Nogales home.
The tunnel has an opening of 2 feet by 2 feet, is approximately 10 feet deep and extends about 30 feet into the street.
Investigators think the tunnel would have eventually connected with a drainage system which runs below the city and extends into Nogales, Mexico.
Federal officials say agents have examined both the tunnel and the nearby drainage system and determined the incomplete tunnel had not yet been used for smuggling.
Federal agents are working with the homeowner to identify the tenants who leased the property.
