TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A collision involving two vehicles occurred early Thursday morning on westbound Interstate 10 at milepost 250.
24-year-old Gillian Osgood was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 when her Nissan rear ended a Kenworth semi truck hauling a trailer which resulted in the vehicle getting stuck under the trailer and trapping the driver inside.
After 60 minutes of engine and rescue companies working to free Osgood, she was finally extracted from her vehicle and was immediately airlifted to the trauma center at the University Medical Center in serious condition.
The truck involved presented no hazards to the area and it remains unclear if the trapped driver was wearing a seat belt at the time.
Circumstances surrounding the cause of the collision are still unknown and remains under investigation.
