University Blvd. can get pretty quiet during the summertime.

"Yeah, it can be tough," Keith Caramella said.

He's one of the managers at The Fix. This past summer, they kept the restaurant open longer to attract more business, and he says it worked out well. However, with students back now, business is looking to be great, according to Caramella.

"Oh it's amazing," he said. "It's about three times as busy when school is in. Business is booming better than ever."

The University Blvd. businesses and UA students have a symbiotic relationship. The students rely on the businesses for their services, whether that's for food, clothing, school supplies, and nightlife, and the businesses rely on the students for their money.

Kelsey Cohen and Brittany Martin are both new freshman on campus. They've been here for about a week and are still just beginning to explore Tucson. However, they've quickly learned to love University Blvd.

"They have a perfect amount of everything," Martin said. "Anything that you want to eat, they have here."

Cohen's dorm is a few blocks away, and she thinks it's location couldn't be more ideal.

"I go eat here more than I do at the Student Union, sorry U of A!" she said. "It's just so close to my dorm, like it takes me two minutes to get here."

Back inside The Fix, a steady flow of customers keeps the kitchen busy, putting a smile on Caramella's face. As the orders keep coming in, he says it's one of the best times of the year.

"Oh it is, for sure. Every year it's the busiest week I believe," he said. "We need all of the business we can get, we love it."
