Two men arrested for armed robbery, assault, and kidnapping

Sierra Vista police arrested two men Friday morning for armed robbery, assault, and kidnapping.

According to the Sierra Vista Police Department, the arrests were made after authorities investigated an early morning robbery in the 1500 block of East Busby Drive.

Police said that a victim was being held at gunpoint and beaten in his residence.

The suspects took the victim's cash and personal property and fled the scene.

Authorities located the suspects after a search warrant was issued for a residence that was in connection with this incident.

SVPD has identified the two suspects as 23-year-old Robert Bustamante and 24-year-old Israel Vasquez.

Bustamante and Vasquez have been issued the following charges:

  • Aggravated robbery 
  • Kidnapping 
  • Aggravated assault 
  • Armed robbery
  • Misconduct with weapons as a prohibited possessor

Both suspects are being held in Cochise County Jail.
