According to Marana Unified School District, someone unaffiliated with the district is passing around flyers asking for people to leave school supplies at their front doors.

The district says it is not affiliated with the program or endorsing the flyer.

Here is the statement the district sent to parents Wednesday:

It has come to the attention of the Marana district that a flyer has been distributed to residents regarding a 'Back to School Drive" (see attached). The flyer requests individuals to "leave items outside your door, labeled on Friday, August 11th, to be picked up Saturday morning Aug 12.'

Please know that this flyer is NOT part of the Marana district nor is the District aware of or endorsing this flyer.
The District has no information on the origin of the flyer.
Marana police spokesman Chriswell Scott said Thursday the department was aware of the flyer but not investigating the incident at this time.

Here is a statement Scott sent KGUN9:

A female did call in to MUSD claiming ownership of the flyer distribution. No name or organization was obtained from the person that called in. There is no evidence of fraud at this point, especially since there were no claims that this collection was endorsed by MUSD. No reports have been made at this point from any Marana citizens to the PD.
