Sahuarita Police responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle Saturday night.
According to the Sahuarita Police Department, the pedestrian was struck on Sahuarita Road just east of Nogales Highway.
After paramedics and firefighters arrived, the pedestrian was pronounced dead.
The pedestrian has been identified as 77-year-old Sahuarita resident Donald Eugene Ongley.
After an investigation, officers learned Ongley was attempting to cross the street in the 1600 Block of E. Sahuarita Rd. when a vehicle traveling eastbound struck him.
A second vehicle traveling eastbound also hit him shortly after.
The roads have since opened after being closed for several hours.
This investigation is ongoing.
