Thousands of people took to the streets in Tucson on Sunday to march against white supremacy and hate.

Now organizers tell KGUN9 that they're ready to go again if they need to.

In less than 24 hours the the unity march in Tucson was organized for Sunday afternoon.

"It was in direct response to what had happened in Charlottesville because when we got together with the other organizers we all felt at that exact moment it's not what our community is about," says Billy Kovacs, Organizer with Against white supremacy and hate march.

Nearly 3,000 people showed up to walk the streets of Old Pueblo.

Marchers stopped at the Islamic Center and walked through the rainbow crosswalk with one message - Unity.

"This is Tucson and we wanted to show our community members that it wouldn't happen here and this is how many people will come out in defiance if that ever were to happen." says Kovacs.

Now the group is coming up with a direct action plan to prepare if what happened in Charlottesville happens again.

Getting leaders, organizers and the thousands of marchers to get ready to march.
