If you know of someone on the island who needs help, you can call a radio station that is receiving emergency calls at this time at 787-777-0940.
There is also a hurricane hotline number that was set up by a tourism company for hotels, guests and industry partners. The hotline number is 1-877-976-2400.
Lines will most likely be busy, so callers are asked to be patient and keep calling if they are not able to speak with somebody right away.
The American Red Cross website also has an option to search for people who have registered themselves as safe.
