The Burro Fire in the foothills of Redington Pass near Burro Tank has grown to 23,200 acres according to fire officials.
There are currently 594 total personnel assigned which includes well over 400 firefighters.
The fire is zero percent contained, however, fire officials say the fire is not growing as fast as they expected.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department is assisting with evacuations on Mount Lemmon from the base of the mountain to Summerhaven at the top.
Summer Haven evacuations began at 6:00 a.m. Monday.
The Pima County Office of Emergency Management says that once residents have left the mountain, there will be no reentry until the evacuation order has been lifted.
Redington Road from milepost 2 to 14 is closed. Mt Lemmon Highway is also closed from the base of the Palisades area at milepost 20.
The fire is burning in tall grass and brush with a moderate to high rate of speed according to Inciweb.
PCSD says that the Mt. Lemmon 4th of July Parade has been canceled due to the fire.
The Coronado National Forest has implemented a temporary flight restriction for all drones.
