Man arrested in connection with robberies

MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - The Marana Police Department, in collaboration with the Tucson Police Department, have arrested 32-year-old John Michael Hayden Jr. after detectives learned about his involvement to robberies in Marana and Tucson.
 
Sgt. Chris Warren, spokesperson for the Marana Police Department, says a search warrant for Hayden Jr.'s home was obtained and detectives worked together to collect multiple items of evidentiary value linking Hayden Jr. to the crimes.
 
Marana Police charged Hayden Jr. has been charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of prohibited possessor of a firearm in connection to the armed robbery at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market located at 3901 W. Ina Road on March 26.
 
Tucson Police charged Hayden Jr. with one count of robbery and one count of aggravated assault in connection to a case that occurred on April 8, at the East Lawn Cemetery, located at 5801 E. Grant Road, said Warren.
 
During the incident at East Lawn Cemetery, a 67-year-old woman was injured after she was assaulted and had her purse stolen.
 
Marana Police have added an additional charge of Burglary in the 2nd Degree in connection to a burglary that from February 20 at the Stadium Grill, located at 3682 W. Orange Grove.
 
During that incident, entry was made into the business by breaking the front glass door with a large rock.

Additional charges may be added to Hayden Jr. pending further investigation by both agencies.
