TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police have arrested Christian Mercado-Velez, 28, a man they believe is responsible for touching two young girls who were shopping with their parents.
On Thursday afternoon, police tracked down the man at a store on the south side after someone who saw his picture on the news spotted the man and called 911.
On July 18 and July 26, police say that two girls under the age of ten were shopping with their parents near Oracle & Wetmore and Roger & Flowing wells when the man touched them. In one case, the girl was not near her parents in the store and in the other, the girl's parents were nearby say police. Both girls reported the contact to their parents who called police, but by the time cops showed up the man took off.
