TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Electric Power’s Community Action Team (or “CAT,” the name of the employee volunteer program), is sponsoring the first “Dog Days of Summer Bowl-a-thon” on July 23 from 2-4 p.m. at Lucky Strike Bowl, 4015 E. Speedway Blvd.
All proceeds from this event will go to PACC Partners, a nonprofit organization that provides resources to the Pima Animal Care Center.
PACC Partners helps to pay for surgery and medicine for animals injured by abuse or neglect. PACC Partners also has several other interesting, worthwhile programs like the “Train to Adopt” program, which is basically a training program for the dogs who are eligible for adoption but need a little help with socialization or obedience training.
TEP is sponsoring several teams to bowl in the event. Other Tucson companies and businesses have been invited to sponsor their own bowling teams and there are still lanes available for other bowlers.
To make this event a success, CAT is holding a pet supply donation drive from now through the day of the event. Needed items include: new and gently used towels, small blankets, leashes and collar sets, toys, Kong chew toys, water dishes, and dog and cat treats.
Donations may be dropped off at Lucky Strike Bowl from 1-5 p.m. on the day of the event.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or visit the Dog Days of Summer Bowl-a-thon website at tep.com.
