TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - It's not every day that the auditorium of a high school becomes a courtroom. But that's what happened recently at Cholla High School ... for a very special ceremony.

They came from 29 different countries with the intent of becoming citizens of one -- the United States of America.

101 strong, U.S. flags in hand, and watched by relatives and friends bursting with pride, they took the oath of allegiance.

And then, as brand new citizens ... the first order of business was the pledge of allegiance.

Federal Judge Charles Pyle clearly enjoyed officiating the proceedings, and called for comments from the new Americans. Many of those who spoke ended their comments with "God Bless America."

A day to remember for 101 individuals who now have a new country to call home!
