TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Two men are under arrest after authorities say they tried to carjack a vehicle and another escaped from police after trying to run over a Pima County Sheriff's Deputy.
Deputy Jason Ogan with the Sheriff's Department says they responded to a home invasion in the 7000 block of S. Parsnip. Three men demanded drugs and money, they took a vehicle from the residence and fled the scene.
A deputy on patrol recognized the vehicle and followed it to an apartment complex near Valencia & I-19. As the deputy exited the vehicle to investigate a second vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed in reverse, nearly striking the deputy. Authorities say the deputy feared for his life and opened fire once while moving out of the vehicles path.
The deputy arrested the two men he was following and authorities searched for the second vehicle but were unable to locate it. Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
