Schoenberg) TSO PREMIERE Mozart and Mahler at the height of their powers: The Symphony No. 35 is a fiery work of brief intensity. Loved from its debut performance, it celebrates a prominent Salzburg family, the Haffners. Considered one of his greatest compositions, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde is a song of the Earth, full of soaring melodies with lyrics from Li Bai, a famous Tang dynasty poet. Four-time Grammy® winner, tenor Anthony Dean Griffey, and Metropolitan Opera star Tamara Mumford make their TSO debuts. In partnership with the Tucson Desert Song Festival
