University of Arizona Skin Cancer Institute Presents 9th Annual “Living in Harmony with the Sun”
The Skin Cancer Institute at the University of Arizona is proud to present the ninth annual Living in Harmony with the Sun event on May 31, 2014 in partnership with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. The Desert Museum is one of Arizona’s most popular attractions, teaching how desert animals and humans have adapted to the sun and learned to thrive in the desert environment. The goal of Living in Harmony with the Sun is to help educate residents and visitors about the dangers of sun exposure, and teach everyone how to enjoy Arizona’s approximately 350 days of sunshine each year without accumulating skin damage. During this year’s Living in Harmony with the Sun event, local dermatologists will conduct skin cancer screenings, in addition to activities dedicated to prevention and detection for adults, children who attend the event will have the opportunity to make UV bracelets, play “the sun fun” facts game, and take pictures in the photo booth with sun safe gear and fun props.
