Whether your goal is to win or simply finish, yoga can get you there. Competitive and recreational athletes use yoga to improve core strength, increase flexibility, improve coordination, help heal or prevent injuries, as well as improve focus, increase concentration, and build mental strength. Yoga is unique in that it is all about balance; strengthening underused muscles while release tight ones; practicing equally on both sides; moving the spine in all directions; practicing a variety of poses from backbends to forward folds to twists and inversions; and focusing not only on the body but on the body-mind connection. This two hour workshop will focus on finding balance to improve sports performance and prevent injury. Plan for a 90 minute yoga practice and wear loose comfortable clothes.
