Mendelssohn's 'Italian' Rossini: La scala di seta Overture Respighi: Trittico Botticelliano Respighi: Gli uccelli ... Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 4, op. 90, A major (Italian) From Rossini's comic opera La scala di seta (The Ladder of Silk), this sparkling overture will set the stage for a delightful musical trip to Italy: Respighi's shimmering Trittico Botticelliano, inspired by three paintings by the Florentine painter Botticelli and Gliuccelli (The Birds) transcribes birdsong into musical notation for orchestra. The journey ends with Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4 (Italian), a joyful work inspired by the color and atmosphere of Italy. The MasterWorks Series brings Ulrich Windfuhr and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra to Northwest Tucson. All concerts begin on Fridays at 7:30 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (7575 N.
