Beethoven & Wagner Program: Wagner: Siegfried Idyll Wagner: Wesendonck Lieder Beethoven: Leonore Overture 3 Beethoven: Abscheulicher! from Fidelio The acclaimed American soprano Amber Wagner makes her Tucson debut with the wistful and romantic Wesendonck Lieder by Richard Wagner. Ms. Wagner closes the concert with the Abscheulicher! from Fidelio by Betthoven, a declarative aria featuring thrilling work by the TSO horns. The concert begins with Wagner's Siegfried Idyll, a Christmas morning birthday present to his wife, filled with birdsong and a musical sunrise; and includes the dramatic Leonore Overture No. 3 by Beethoven, conveying oppression, resolve, hope, and joyous deliverance. The MasterWorks Series brings George Hanson and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra to Northwest Tucson. All concerts begin on Fridays at 7:30 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (7575 N. Paseo Del Norte).
